Every fall the docks fill up, the water taxis run late into the evening, and Fort Lauderdale lives up to its nickname as the Yachting Capital of the World. The 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show — the 67th edition of FLIBS — runs Wednesday, October 28 through Sunday, November 1, 2026, and it’s the biggest in-water boat show on the planet. If you boat anywhere in South Florida, it’s the one event of the year worth planning around.
Here’s what to know before you go, and why the three weeks leading up to the show are the best time of year to get your own boat sorted.
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2026: The Basics
- Dates: October 28 – November 1, 2026 (Wednesday through Sunday)
- Main location: Bahia Mar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
- Other venues: Las Olas Marina, Hall of Fame Marina, Broward County Convention Center, Pier Sixty-Six Marina, and the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South — all connected by free shuttles and water taxis
- Tickets: online only — there’s no box office at the show, so buy before you drive down
- Scale: roughly 1,000+ exhibitors and well over 1,000 boats, from superyachts over 100 feet to center consoles and tenders
Last year’s show drew more than 100,000 visitors across five days. You can read our 2025 FLIBS recap for a sense of the scale — and expect 2026 to be bigger, with the redeveloped Pier Sixty-Six fully online as a show venue.
What We’ll Be Looking At
The superyachts get the headlines, but for most of our customers the real action is in the outboard and center-console world. A few things on our list:
New outboard releases
FLIBS is where Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda tend to make announcements — Suzuki used the 2024 show to launch its 7-year V6 warranty, for example. If you’re considering a repower in the next year, this is the best place to see every engine in the same afternoon and talk to factory reps directly.
Marine electronics
Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine, and Furuno all bring their latest displays, radar, and sonar. Watch for larger glass-helm screens trickling down to smaller boats, and for the next wave of forward-looking sonar.
Audio and lighting
The JL Audio and Rockford Fosgate displays are always worth a stop. Marine audio has become a must-have on South Florida boats, and the show is the place to hear new amps and tower speakers side by side. Underwater and courtesy lighting demos are easiest to appreciate after dark, so plan a late visit at least one evening.
Performance upgrades
As an authorized Nizpro Marine dealer, we’ll be paying close attention to what’s new in outboard performance tuning and superchargers.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of FLIBS
- Don’t try to do it all in one day. The show spans six venues and miles of floating docks. Pick two or three locations per day.
- Go early on a weekday. Wednesday and Thursday are noticeably calmer than the weekend, and sales reps have more time to talk.
- Use the water taxi. It’s the fastest way between Bahia Mar, Las Olas, and Pier Sixty-Six, and it’s a better view than Seabreeze Boulevard traffic.
- Wear real shoes. You will walk more than you expect, on docks that move.
- Bring your questions. Engine hours, service intervals, warranty terms — the show is the one place every manufacturer is in the same zip code.
Boating During Boat Show Week
If you keep a boat in Fort Lauderdale, be aware that the Intracoastal around Bahia Mar, Las Olas, and the 17th Street Causeway gets congested with show traffic, temporary docks, and no-wake zones from setup through teardown. Plan extra time if you’re running through the area, and expect the 17th Street and Las Olas bridges to be busier than usual.
Get Your Own Boat Show-Ready
There’s something about walking miles of pristine boats that makes you want your own to look and run the same way. The three weeks before the show are the perfect window to get ahead of it, whether that means:
- A full outboard service so the engine is ready for the cooler-weather fishing season that follows
- A marine audio upgrade or lighting package you’ve been putting off
- Clean-up of the console wiring so new electronics install properly
- A repower quote to compare against what you see at the show
Our mobile marine service can handle most of this at your dock in Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point, or Boca Raton, and our Oakland Park shop is minutes from the show venues. Contact Proficient Marine or call (954) 328-8393 to get on the schedule before boat show week.
See you on the docks October 28th.
